As a home inspector I need to collect evidence and thermal imaging of a home or business. To capture the full context of the finding/area may mean I collect personal photos or personal information hanging on a refrigerator, a night stand or even a desk.

Solution

For residential customers, make sure to send them a note 24-hour in advance to store any valuables and hide any sensitive information that they may not want collected.

For commercial clients, request that private or sensitive information be stored in a secure manner or at least in drawers.

Last but not least, train employees to minimize capturing sensitive information and conduct periodic audits using body cameras to verify compliance with your procedures.
